Accessibility statement

Voluntary statement

BuI Hinsche GmbH is a micro-enterprise within the meaning of § 2 no. 17 of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG). The accessibility requirements of the BFSG do not apply to micro-enterprises that offer or provide services (§ 3(3) sentence 1 BFSG). We make this statement voluntarily because we want our offering to have as few barriers as possible and to say openly where barriers still exist.

Service provider

BuI Hinsche GmbH
Neumarkt 7
06712 Zeitz
Germany

General description of the service

Sale and provision of our software for macOS as subscriptions via the online shop at shop.webdonkey.io: WebDonkey (setting up and managing local web development environments), WebDonkey Editor (code editor), WebDonkey Pages (building websites with AI), the SEO package and the maintenance package. The maintenance package and the business plans of WebDonkey Pages are aimed at entrepreneurs only.

Scope of this statement

This statement covers:

  • the online shop at shop.webdonkey.io including customer account and checkout,
  • the application WebDonkey for macOS, as of our self-assessment of 22.09.2026.

Our website webdonkey.io presents the products; no contracts are concluded via it. It is not covered by this statement, nor are WebDonkey Editor and WebDonkey Pages.

Not covered are third-party content and services that we do not provide ourselves, such as the payment service provider during checkout, our community server on Discord, or software by other manufacturers installed via the app at the user's request.

Accessibility status

According to our self-assessment of 22.09.2026, the offerings named are partially accessible. The points listed below are not or not fully accessible. Parts of the shop added since then, such as the purchase page, the choice between several contracts when cancelling and the cookie banner, have not yet been assessed.

Online shop

The core functions (product information, registration, checkout and customer account) can be operated with the keyboard, used with magnification and are accessible to screen readers. The pages are marked up in their language, are structured with landmark regions and offer a skip link to the main content; all images that carry content have a text alternative.

Known limitations:

  • Individual controls from the storefront toolkit used (such as the close buttons of dialogs) have no accessible name of their own and are announced by screen readers only as “button”.
  • The product search is not marked up as a search region, so it cannot be reached directly via the landmark navigation of assistive technologies.
  • Checkout and customer account are largely based on the standard of the shop system used. We can influence its accessibility only to a limited extent; we report defects to the manufacturer.
  • Embedded third-party content (in particular the payment service provider's pages during payment) is outside our control.

Application WebDonkey for macOS

The app already supports:

  • full keyboard operation including keyboard shortcuts and a command palette through which all functions can be reached without a mouse and your own shortcuts can be assigned,
  • a light and a dark appearance and several colour schemes; for self-created colour schemes a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 (WCAG AA) for text is ensured by calculation,
  • respect for the system setting “Reduce motion”; animations are then switched off or greatly shortened,
  • a user interface in 16 languages,
  • hiding areas you do not need, so that the interface can be reduced to the essentials.

Known limitations we are working on:

  • Visibility of keyboard focus: A clearly visible focus indicator has so far only been implemented in individual areas, not consistently on all pages. Keyboard operation is made more difficult as a result (WCAG 2.4.7).
  • Language markup: The interface reports German to the operating system and assistive technologies regardless of the display language chosen. Screen readers may therefore read texts with the wrong pronunciation (WCAG 3.1.1).
  • Screen reader support: The interface is not yet fully marked up for VoiceOver. Individual controls, status messages and complex views (such as the log and services area, the embedded terminal and the built-in browser) cannot be used or only to a limited extent.
  • Dynamic status messages are not consistently announced to assistive technologies.
  • Individual highly technical areas (such as the embedded terminal, the database browser and the developer tools of the built-in browser) are based on third-party components; we can influence their accessibility only to a limited extent.

Reporting barriers

If you encounter a barrier or need content in another form, write to us at info@webdonkey.io. We will reply and check how we can remove the barrier, where it is within our control.
